The living room entertains friends, family and life's challenges. It is where we get energized, socialize, lift our minds and find happiness. It creates the image of who we are. This is a yang room. Make it cozy, cheerful, comfortable, welcoming, and colorful. Make a blend of happiness and harmony.
Dos in a Living Room
Place a bagua compass over the floor plan of the room and identify what compass direction your living room is located. Nourish it accordingly. For example, if it is in the Southwest, use red, yellow and beige colors and square shaped objects to support the love, motherhood and nurturing associated with the Southwest.
You can also learn the life aspirations of the different corners of the room. Energize the corners associated with areas of your life that need help. For example, if your career is stagnating, energize the northern part of the room with a water picture, metallic or blue colors and arched or wavy shaped objects.
Place the sofa in the command position in the room, a corner far away from the door with a solid wall behind it, or pull the curtains down when seated.
Place seating to encourage conversation vs. focusing on a TV or fireplace. Make it so people can see one another, but not confronting one another.
