The Power of Intention of the Heart and Mind

The power of intention has an important role in eastern philosophies. It is increasingly being adopted in the West. Intention is called Yi in Chinese. It is the ability to focus and concentrate your internal CHI (life-force energy) to manifest outcomes.

Yi is the Gung Fu master who breaks bricks with his hands. It is the doctor who operates using acupuncture as anesthesia. Yi is the foundation of Gung Fu, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. In Feng Shui, intention is equated to CHI and consciousness. Consciousness implies mindfulness, awareness and intent. Numerous scientific studies have proven a connection between meditation and prayer on healing and creating reality.

We use conscious awareness of intention in Feng Shui, which is central to directing your CHI. The clearer, more pure your intention when implementing Feng Shui treatments, enhancements, or adjustments, the more powerful the outcome. Feng Shui will work without clear intention. But with mindful awareness of your intent, the outcome is usually very quick, positive and can be quite extraordinary. Strengthening your YI gives you a direct role on the impact of your environment.

When thinking of your intention, frame it in the positive, concentrate on what you want, not on what you don't want.

EXAMPLE:
You place two rose quartz mandarin ducks in the love/relationship corner because your relationship is a bit rocky. As you place them, you say, "I'm putting these symbols of love here because I don't want my relationship to be so negative anymore," you have just focused on what you don't want. What you focus on expands, negative or positive. Positive intention is, "I'm putting these symbols of love here to generate a healthy, happy union, one that is full of joy and good times." Each time you look at the two love birds, they serve as a reminder of your intention and the energy will shift. As your mind shifts, so will your life.

May your life be blessed with good health, happiness and abundance!
